Biography

A native of Jonesboro Arkansas, Matt Miller received his B.S.B.A. with an emphasis in finance from the University of Arkansas in 2007. Matt has been creating pieces like the ones in the virtual galleries over the past five years. His works are featured in private collections throughout the region as well as far reaching cities such as Portland, San Diego, and New York City.

Growing up in a home of four siblings, Matt found his voice through Creative thought and action. He gained much inspiration while living in South America in 2005 and a visit to Africa in 2007 and travels to Columbia 2009. Being a self-taught artist, with formal training only as a child, his works are a recorded evolution of an artist. Working mostly with acrylic, Matt displays his vivacious outlook through thick texture application, bright, bold colors and curiously faceted lines. He prefers large canvas as that allows more involvement with the piece. Each work embodies different parts of his life, beckoning you to look further than the first visual experience and transfer the inspiration into your own thoughts and positive energy.Matt's pieces are done both on his own merit as well by commission.

In his own words...

I love to share my journey with others through artwork and I hope that you gain something by what you see.  Gaining inspiration from your surroundings is an incredible source for passion. It is the people you meet with simple lives and philosophies that provide inspiration, and help one gain perspective on life. Life is the path you choose not the path you have chosen. Everything is subject to change; you can only follow your heart and the side of the brain that speaks the loudest. Change is inevitable and enlightenment is progress. Art is giving into change, and not yielding to conformity. Never let the past be your present, nor the present be your end.
